About the TCP Latency Test

Opens a TCP connection to the host on port 443 ten times from the OpenVibe server (one location) and reports each connect time with the minimum, average, maximum and loss. It measures the network path only, not how long the web server takes to answer.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as time to first byte?
No. It times only the TCP connection. For how long the server takes to answer a request, use the website uptime check.
Why is latency high?
Usually distance: the host is far from our server with no edge node in between. A CDN fixes exactly this for visitors near its nodes.
